Finch Essentials gives you the structure, teaching materials and practice to work through at home without needing to plan your child's learning yourself. If your child needs more individual support, Finch Personal provides tailored preparation, feedback and ongoing guidance.

If an exam is approaching and you need a more intensive plan, Finch Exam Intensive provides a bespoke programme built around your child and their exam date.

This will depend on your child's age, confidence and ability.

Finch workbooks include teaching notes, clear explanations and worked examples to help children understand what they're being asked to do. Many children will be able to work increasingly independently once you've helped them get started, while others may benefit from having you nearby.

You don't need to plan the lessons or decide what to teach next.

Finch resources include opportunities for appropriate support, practice and challenge within the mapped programme.

If your child needs preparation that is more specifically adapted to their strengths, gaps or pace, Finch Personal may be more appropriate. Their priorities can then be adjusted according to their assessments and progress.

There is no single 8+ entrance exam used by every independent school, so Finch doesn't pretend there is.

Our core programme builds the curriculum knowledge, application, reasoning and assessment skills children commonly need as they prepare for 8+ entrance assessments.

Where preparation needs to be more closely focused around a particular target school or approaching examination, Finch Personal or Exam Intensive can take those requirements into account.

Each Finch Essentials month includes a monthly parent/welcome guide, a Knowledge Check, three focused weekly workbooks of around 45 minutes each, teaching notes and worked examples, structured practice and application questions, a Week 4 assessment with appropriate exam-style questions, answers and progress-tracking materials.

Physical Finch Packs are available for UK delivery, with a digital PDF option available worldwide.

Your Finch Essentials pack follows a monthly learning cycle. Digital packs are released by secure download link on the last day of the preceding month, ready for the month ahead. Printed packs are normally dispatched during the final week of the preceding month.

Packs are not sent at the moment you subscribe — they're released on that monthly schedule, so your child starts the month with everything ready.

To be included in the normal printed-pack run for the following month, join by the 22nd. If you join after the 22nd, you'll still receive the upcoming month's digital pack, while your first physical pack will begin with the next available print cycle. Printed members always receive the digital pack too.
